Hollywood officials came up with an inventive plan to
attract tourists by sea, which is to ship the stranded cruise ship, Costa
Concordia, from Tuscany, Italy to
Hollywood and secure it offshore just North of the Hollywood Beach Band shell…Underwater
breathers will be allowed to dive on the Concordia and to search for left over treasures
like bottles of great wine, champagne, caviar, silverware…eventually it is
expected to become the biggest manmade reef in South Florida and a great spot
for fishermen and lobster divers.
So much is happening on Hollywood Beach! Unbelievable number of constructions at the same time in just under 3 miles long! So, if you ever wanted to hit both the beach and the ski slopes in the same day, a solution for you may be coming to Hollywood, Florida.
Pelion Sunrise would be located near the
Sawgrass Mills Mall. The developer, Norman Cantor, has plans to make Pelion
Sunrise into more than just indoor ski slopes, as if that weren’t an ambitious
enough project. The winter sports complex would contain ice skating,
snowmobiling, sledding, and tubing facilities, in addition to the 2,700 foot
ski slopes that have been proposed. The facility will be kept at 31 degrees
Fahrenheit. In addition, there will be a separate facility with
non-snow-related activities like go-carts, laser tag, and paintball.
The building itself is supposed to resemble
an iceberg, perfect sight after spending a day on the hot Hollywood beach.Thursday, August 22, 2013

True story: I stayed in Hollywood Beach Resort last year and witnessed dozens of people coming from all over to spend some time in their favorite restaurant – O’Malley’s……just not to find it! The disappointment on their faces was difficult to describe…Little did they know that O”Malley’s is still “alive and kicking”, just on the second floor of the Resort. The restaurant, which is a landmark of Hollywood Beach has reinvented itself a few times, but the family bond with “regular and irregular” remains strong.
Please come to celebrate a special milestone in O’Malley’s history - anniversary at the new location:
O’Malley’s Upper Deck/Club Atlantic Restaurant
Location: Hollywood Beach Resort Oceanwalk Mall, 101 S. Ocean

CAN IT BE THE SECRET OF HOLLYWOOD BEACH MAGIC???
During ground preparation for Margaritaville, the workers
discovered relicts of ancient Native Americans burial grounds: small pieces of
smoking pipes, string of beads and flip-flops made of hemp. A lamp powered by liquid
lava was also discovered.
Initial investigations by anthropologists from Florida
International University believe they originate from the Tequesta tribe that
first settled on Hollywood Beach some 400 years ago. Further investigations of
underground dwelling have uncovered drawings that seem to indicate the placing
of a curse on any attempt to develop this property outside the spirit of the
Tequesta Native Tribe.
The Tribe were peaceful and fun-loving people who smoked a
lot of natural weeds, drank a sugar cane concoction with sea salt and lime
juice and spent a lot of time playing and dancing on beautiful Hollywood Beach…and
there is a legend, that this sacred site must remain the same spirit. And it
does!
